Mono Sodium Phosphate is a source of phosphorus used to prevent or correct hypophosphatemia in patients with restricted or no oral intake. It is a saline laxative that is thought to work by increasing fluid in the small intestine. Mono Sodium Phosphate usually results in a bowel movement after 30 minutes to 6 hours.
